I developed this shopping bag for a student packaging project which involved designing an interactive bag to promote an existing brand/institution. I've always really enjoyed visiting the Mütter Museum of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and since the museum has a gift shop, I decided to design a shopping bag concept for their merchandise for my project. The bag maintains a consistency with the Mütter's existing brand identity, while offering a fresh series of design elements. The focus of the bag is the interactive x-ray which aligns with the consumer's knee, creating the illusion of an x-ray of the persons leg. The idea of an x-ray aligns closely with the museum's collection of medical oddities and advertises a glimpse of what one would expect to find at the museum. The bag provides a delightful surprise for viewers, while reinforcing the Mütter's identity and promoting an interest in the museum's exhibits.
